BMCL, the project is alive and kicking!

Hi friends of the Hunchback!

During christmas an RB concept idea had grown on me, I wanted to build back mounted counterlungs, BMCL, for my hunchback! I was tired of having bags on my chest! ;=)

I looked on the several projects of Dave Thompson and read his postings on RB forum for inspiration.... no pun intended.... ;=) and suddenly I realized that the solution was right in front of my nose!

I bought a secondhand BCD for inspiration (due to its size and price), opened it, gutted it and thereafter I put two MSR bags in. These bags can be "molded" into whatever size I want with the help of a simple household iron, read an earlier post. The result speaks for itself! It passes postive and negaitve tests with flying colours. Now if I could only get it to a lab where there is a ANSTI test machine so I could test its breathing resistance then I would be a very happy man....Anyone care to help me???? You can reach me through RB forum, send me a message!

Somethings are missing right now that will be added during the spring:

  • O2 addition, manual bypass
  • Solenoid, ECCR concept as a parachute
  • A hub for all the hoses
  • A smal ADV on one of the T-junctions on the back
  • Shorter hoses for the back end
  • Spare PO2 display
